Do you remember that movie The Karate Kid? Surely if you know of The Karate Kid, then you’re familiar with “Wax on, wax off.”
Mr. Miyagi is trying to teach Daniel the fine art of karate. But Mr. Miyagi is old school. So he makes Daniel do these seemingly brain numbing tasks.
Later on we find out that “Wax on, wax off,” is really the prelude to a save-your-ass blocking move.
I’m old school just like Mr. Miyagi.
In previous posts I stressed both the importance and necessary features of great product photographs.
And if you’ve taken any of my advice to heart, you’ll be fully prepared to take advantage of today’s tip.
Today I’m going to show you where to put your product photos for maximum publicity.
It’s called Flickr.
You’ve probably heard of it before. It’s a photo sharing web site featuring pictures of all sorts of things.
It’s an excellent inspirational site for indie designers. But if you look a little deeper, it’s also an ideal place to showcase your merchandise.
Let me show you an example of how it works.
Gasupthezamboni showcases her own handmade jewelry.
And if you look under her profile, you’ll see that she sells her stuff on Etsy.
But that’s the beginning.
You can join different groups on Flickr, and your photos will have an even larger reach. The whole idea being the more people see pic’s of your goods, the better the chance you have at making a sale.
Here are some indie designer slanted groups on Flickr you might want to contribute to.
